Extruded polycarbonate Lexan* films for the graphics industry offer outstanding clarity and mechanical strength, enhancing color with no loss of depth or vividness in second-surface printing. Available surface textures, performance grades, consistent printability and ease of processing, all make Lexan films a top candidate when durability and aesthetics are important.
Product FeaturesPrintabilityFirst- (front) surface printable - and with excellent clarity across all gauges, second-surface printable as well. Excellent ink adhesion without pretreatment. Consistent ability to enhance colors, with no loss of depth or vividness in second-surface printing. Ink compatibility includes conventional solvent-based inks, many UV-curing inks, water-based inks, and infrared curing inks. Optical ClarityHigh light transmission and low haze values, capable of transmitting 90% of visible light - permitting use as LED/LCD windows and other applications requiring exception transmission of color and light. Thermal StabilityHeat resistance and dimensional stability allows close registration after repeated heating and drying, as well as close proximity to illumination sources and other heat-emitting components. Offers end-use performance to 133 C (270 F), with a continuous use temperature of 85 C (185 F). FormabilityHigh melt strength permits a wide range of thermoforming including vacuum, pressure, embossing, matched metal, hydroforming, drape, thermal and pressure assist forming. Lexan films also can be used for deep-drawn, three-dimensional parts. Design FreedomWide range of product options offers broad design versatility, with available polished, textured, flame retardant, and high performance films Related Literature |
